Pug Rescue for the month of November:

Kilo is a an 8 year old fawn male who is going to need:
~ ongoing insulin shots and check ups
~ artificial tear drops, daily for dry eye
~ on antibiotics for a urine infection
~ needs major surgery on his bladder
Winter Social Kilo-02
Drop a donation into the Donation Tin for Kilo. Let’s pull together as Pug owners to help him towards a more
fulfilling and healthy life!!
All donations collected November 6th will be forwarded to Pugalug Pug Rescue, in Kilo’s name;
from the London Pug Pals Smile

Kilo's Foster Buddies:
Andrea Wall
to become a Foster Buddy to Kilo; check out www.pugalug.com
or to read more on Kilo’s on going story;
check out the website for Pugalug Pug Rescue!

Kilo’s introduction, October 13, 2009
Kilo's an owner surrender. He's a sweet gentle giant. He weighs in at 26 lbs but he could stand to loose a few
pounds. He's got a lovely thick plush coat. He's a little timid around new people and situations but he warms up
fairly quickly. Kilo's settling in well with his foster siblings and only once or twice had to tell Rocky he was a
little too intrusive with the sniff and smell routine. Kilo waddles because of the extra weight and he moves
along at this own pace. I suspect my furniture may look much more attractive once he's shed a few pounds.
Kilo took to my son immediately. He has a warm place
in his heart for the men of the household. Kilo will let it all hang
out for a belly rub in the trusted arms of my husband. While Kilo
prefers to stay on the floor most of the day, he laid claim to my son's bed on day one. He also prefers my son's
company when he's home and will sit happily and watch him on the computer. He quickly secured my son's lap
for the trip up north this weekend. We didn't hear a peep from him for the rest of the trip.
Kilo came to us with incontinence and blood in his
urine. He likely has bladder stones. We'll have a better idea
next week when some x-rays are taken. Not surprisingly, he has a urinary tract infection and started today on
some antibiotics. The vet visit also discovered that Kilo has diabetes. He started on insulin injections this
evening. He'll be checked again next week and we'll see if his blood work has improved. Kilo has been
diagnosed in the past with dry eye and I've started him on artificial tears.
Now with all these health issues going on, I couldn't blame him if Kilo was on the grumpy side but it's been
quite the opposite. He's been reasonably co-operative about wearing a diaper and he's warming to the idea of eye
drops when there's a treat coming afterwards. He managed to stay dry from 9 PM last night to 7:30 PM tonight.
He will sit patiently by the door to ask to go out. He won't bark. He took a hectic weekend of lots of people,
confined spaces and long car rides in stride. He was also a good sport about his bath. Heck he even tolerated my
learning to give the insulin shots without so much as a flinch.

Winter Social Empty okay It's Official

Post  2pugseniors Sat Oct 24, 2009 5:48 pm

We have an indoor venue to host a first Pug Social!!!
http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=847+highbury+rd,+london+ontario&sll=49.891235,-97.15369&sspn=25.027097,56.162109&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=847+Highbury+Ave+N,+London,+Middlesex+County,+Ontario&ll=43.001744,-81.207199&spn=0.00346,0.006856&t=h&z=17
Canine Life has an indoor area that they are willing to rent us!

So I have requested a confirmation from Canine Life for Nov. 8th possibly for 2pm-4pm.

There is an area just outside the front door for washroom breaks for the pugs and friends; with a pooper catcher garbage can as well for cleanup!

The space is approx. 30' x 45' and flooring is a cement pad and there is heating.
There is limited seating for the Pug Pals!! So it would be suggested that
Pug Pals bring along a folding chair.

Admission at this point will be between 5 and 7 dollars and I will confirm that once I hear from Canine Life with date confirmation!

So, folks, it is looking great! Smile
Hope you bookmark Nov. 8th on your calendar as well a possible Christmas get together for Dec. 6th Smile

I've included a map link for this site and a picture showing the building on the property.

Lori, Pugsley and Bubba

Hi Everyone,

put in a request to a place that does canine training courses and they have a large space that is doggy proofed.

Here is crossing our fingers that they will come through with something that all our Pugs will enjoy!

Will keep everyone posted Smile
