Rescues are kept scrambling to keep up with the masses of needy animals in part due to the lack of animal rights education of the public. A great way to help a rescue is to educate yourself and then others on some of the issues that keep rescues packed: puppy mills, backyard breeders, breed specific legislation, lax and outdated animal cruelty laws, illegal dog fighting, animal testing, and skyrocketing veterinary fees, just to name a few. The more people know about the issues at hand the more educated choices they can make to help themselves and their furry friends.
